Adults are only kids grown up, anyway.”

We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

On the Power of Financial Literacy

My 6th and most important book to date, The Other Birds & Bees: Money $ecrets No One Ever Taught You (https://www.amazon.com/Other-Birds-Beeswas released a few days ago.

While the target audience is young adults from high schoolers to those who recently graduated from college and are starting their ‘adult life’, the reality is that anyone who deals with money on a regular basis (and who doesn’t?) can benefit from the tips and tools contained within the book. Some of the topics covered that can help people better navigate financial issues include:

- Saving for a house or other big purchase – how to set the goal and work backwards with a monthly plan to get from point A to point B.-

- Optimizing investments for retirement accounts.

- Negotiating a salary or other situation to your advantage

- Deciding on whether to lease or purchase a car – and how much you can afford.

- And much more.

To be sure, younger people are rarely taught such basic but vital concepts at home or in the classroom (hence the book!), and as adults we often learned the hard way (which is why nearly half of Americans cannot even afford a $400 emergency and are stressed living paycheck to paycheck). If you have kids or know someone who does, give them the gift of financial empowerment and freedom so they can start developing strong money habits today.

If you find yourself not always making the best decisions with your money – whether on the expenditure, income, or saving/investment side – this book can be an invaluable resource to help you make smarter choices in the future.

As with health, financial education is one of the most important areas of life we can master. Our goal with this book is to empower the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take control of their money. We believe that by making smart financial choices early, young adults can create a foundation for freedom, opportunity, and a brighter future. I thank you for helping us on this journey of positively impacting millions of kids (and adults who act like them!) in their financial lives.
