Coastwise Capital Group, LLC Launches Annual Scholarship Prize

LA JOLLA, CA (September 15, 2009) Coastwise Capital Group, LLC announces the launch of its 2009/2010 annual scholarship, the Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence. With financial literacy disappointingly low and less than 10% of high school students graduating with proper education related to money management, the Coastwise Prize scholarship seeks to inspire financial education among today's youth.

The Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence probes students to consider how to invest both human and financial capital to succeed as defined by their own objectives. This scholarship will allow them the opportunity to explore the world of investing while learning how to set personal and financial goals. It is an opportunity to build a foundation toward a future of financial awareness, control, and stability.

Eligible applicants are sophomore, junior, and senior students attending La Jolla High School, La Jolla Country Day, SCY High, The Bishop's School, or The Preuss School. Applicants are asked to submit a 1,000 word essay on the designated topic which can be found on the scholarship website, www.coastwiseprize.com.

"We are very proud that we are able to expand the scholarship this year from sophomore students to now include junior and senior students as well. With a larger applicant pool we are excited to see the brilliance and creativity of La Jolla's youth through their thoughtful essays," says Scott Kyle, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of scholarship sponsor Coastwise Capital Group, LLC.

Winners of last year's competition, Miriam Million (The Preuss School), Rachel Locke (La Jolla Country Day School), and Will Yashar (La Jolla High School) received a total of $6,000 in scholarship money. This year the Coastwise Prize will be awarding over $10,000 to the winning essay writers. The scholarship awardees will receive their monetary prize in the form of a 529 college fund used specifically for college expenses and will be invited to the Coastwise Prize Awards Ceremony in February. The ceremony will include dinner, special guest speakers, and a brief investment seminar.
