At Coastwise Capital Group each portfolio is carefully tailored to meet the current and evolving financial objectives of our clients. Some of the investment styles employed include Aggressive/Growth, Moderate/Value/Income, Conservative/Income, Market Neutral, International, Special Situations, and Global Opportunities. Aggressive/Growth Seeks capital appreciation through the purchase of stocks of smaller and faster growing companies. Moderate/Value/Income Seeks capital appreciation and income principally through the purchase of attractively valued dividend paying stocks. Where appropriate, options are sold for further hedging and income generation. Conservative/Income Seeks to generate income through the investment in dividend paying stocks and other high yield securities such as REITS, as well as the conservative use of options (covered calls) and debt instruments such as domestic and international bonds. Market Neutral Seeks positive absolute returns regardless of market direction, through sophisticated proprietary hedging techniques. This is done through the use of long equity positions, short equity positions, and options to create a market neutral portfolio whose returns tend to move independently of the broader market direction. International Seeks capital appreciation and income from foreign markets for which returns exhibit low correlations to US markets. Through macro-economic analysis, countries or regions that represent good investment candidates are selected. Low cost ETF's are then employed to get international equity exposure to take advantage of foreign markets that might perform better than the US market in the next 1 - 5 years. Special Situations Seeks capital appreciation through the investment in opportunities such as spin-offs, turnarounds and other 'special situation' investment opportunities that present themselves in the marketplace. Global Opportunities Seeks capital appreciation through the investment and trading in a wide array of securities globally including individual stocks, equity based ETF's, commodity related ETF's (such as oil), REITS, and options.
